Cold winters and snow are a fact of life that much of the U.S is used to. It is more common in the northern
parts of the country but Virginia gets 1-2 snowstorms a year. Here are some of the photos i took over the last 2 winters.
Snow. Although it maybe 40 degrees Celcius or above in February it is bitterly cold in Virginia. in the 3rd
week of January 2003 it snowed in most of the state.
Trees, sheds and yards are completely covered by snow
Two days after the snow storm it was safe enough to drive on the streets. It was still very slippery and icy.
Frozen lake. Although it is difficult to see the lake shown is totally frozen over and the ice was thick enough
not to be broken with a large stick.
